From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.  John 1:16

I am thankful that good things flow from our Heavenly Father. His blessings are evident all around us.  The blessing of life health and strength empower my days.  His love is wrapped around my soul this morning and I am thankful.  He provided peace in my mind despite the imperfection of my situations.  He fueled my faith, just reflecting on His continued flawless faithfulness to me.  God is good and His blessings are flowing.  I welcome his love, peace and joy into my life.  With thanksgiving, I embrace His goodness and blessings that are flowing in my life.  Today I can move forward in my purpose as the blessings flow.

Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord And whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord. Jeremiah 17:7 AMP

Recharge!

another sunrise

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:2

It is time to recharge!

Our hearts and minds need constant renewal and rejuvenation to keep us focused on our purpose. Busy schedules, chronic problems and the weight of just daily living can create weariness in our lives.  This tired state can give way to anxiety and depression that makes it difficult to stay positive and focused on the future.

It is time to recharge!

Renewal is a gift from the Lord. We can seek His presence through prayer, reading His Word and singing praises to His Holy name.  We may need to take some time to rest and to create a space of quiet and meditation.  When your internal battery is low seek rejuvenation and renewal in Him.

It is time to recharge!

Imagine Me

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. John 9:4

In my life ahead, I imagine my life stronger, focused and thriving.  I am blessed today and I am thankful.  Tomorrow the Lord’s purpose for me compels me to reach higher, live higher and to move closer to Him.  I imagine my days full of His strength, surrounded by His peace, focused on His purpose for me.  I have to work while it is day and while the door is still open.  I will follow His leading.  Other pursuits serve as distractions and wastes precious time.  I imagine my day today, one good decision after another.  His Holy Spirit is faithful to guide when I am listening.  I am moving forward in my health, in the work of my hands and in my purpose.  One day at a time, I imagine a life pleasing to Him.

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.  Romans 12:1-2 Message

Making it Right

So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. Romans 14:19

Sometimes we do things we don’t mean and it may have unintended consequences. A harsh word, a hurried response or a big misunderstanding may create distance between us and others. It may be with a total stranger or with someone that is dear to our hearts. Maintaining or nurturing relationships requires effort and at times hard work to create or restore a relationship that is worth having. The Bible explains the first step of going to someone privately when we experience a problem in a relationship. It describes the subsequent steps of reconciliation depending on the response received. I believe that the Lord provides this critical guidance because He has called us not only to get along but to love one another. Mutual understanding and respect sets the foundation for love. Wherever we find ourselves today, we can spend some time considering where we are with our relationships. Even if we are at a loss to how to get things pointed toward reconciliation, I am thankful to God that the Holy Spirit can provide direction about what to do when we need it.

 Dear Heavenly Father –

We thank you for this day and each blessing that it holds. We thank you God for the blessing of friendships and family. We ask now that you would provide guidance regarding the relationships in our lives and show us where we need to make things right. With you leading and direction, you can help us to nurture and reconcile our relationships to reflect your love in us. We thank you God for these blessings.

In Jesus’ name –  Amen

Morning Light

What a beautiful thing, God, to give thanks, to sing an anthem to you, the High God! To announce your love each daybreak, sing your faithful presence all through the night,  Psalm 92:2 MSG

Morning light announces the opportunity of a new day and a new start. I get a chance to begin again.  Yesterday is behind me with all of its ups and downs.  This day is ready to begin.  I can start the day with thanksgiving in my heart.  The Lord has made another day to experience His grace and His goodness.  And I am thankful.  I have another chance to move ahead in my purpose and this is a blessing.  I can experience His presence with all of His love and care for me.  I can replace any worry with confidence and trust in the Lord.  This is the day created for me. I am trusting Him and looking forward to this new day along the journey.

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24

Hiking Season

22 02 2016

Rome Moving ForwardShow me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.  Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.   All day long I put my hope in you.        Psalm 25:4-5

This season is full of twists and turns, with some sharp bends in the road that I did not see what was around the corner. Our path is a journey that I have likened more to hiking in a mountain forest than a Sunday walk in the park. As believers we are challenged to seek God’s leading and to listen for the guiding of the Holy Spirit, who provides the gentle whispering winds of which way to go. The path is rugged, requiring strong muscles of faith in our legs, in our hearts and minds to continue to move forward. We have to remember to breathe in and out, creating more opportunities for our heart muscle to become stronger. We have to use all of our senses, listening for God in unfamiliar territory and careful to avoid the stench of discouragement. We have to reach out to others who can help us along the way and take every opportunity to encourage each other in the Lord. We may meet strangers along the path creating an open door for others to join the journey. Using our love with His light, they are more apt to walk the path with us. The enemy may desire to sift us like wheat but Jesus has prayed for us that our faith would endure and that we would not give in or give out. Our savior has prayed for us that our Faith would not fail. We are encouraged to stay on the path, even when it is hard, when it is dark and even when we are tired. We can be assured even in uncertainty of the next stretch on the journey, our God promises to be with us every step of the way and that victory is at the end of the road.

“Simon, stay on your toes. Satan has tried his best to separate all of you from me, like chaff from wheat. Simon, I’ve prayed for you in particular that you not give in or give out. When you have come through the time of testing, turn to your companions and give them a fresh start.” Luke 22:31-32

In all My Ways

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.  In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].  Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP

Making decisions can be difficult. In our relationships, our finances and just the normal course of our day, we make one decision after another.  Some answers seem straight forward and then others require some real consideration.  In relationships, the decisions can be bogged down with emotions of the past, misunderstanding, hurt and lack of trust. Our feet and our feelings get mired and we can’t seem to make a step forward.  I am so thankful that we can take all of our decisions to the Lord. Seeking the guidance of our Savior can make the difference in making a good versus a bad decision.  When we immerse His guidance, His Holy Spirit and His Word into our decisions the outcomes become infused with His grace.  His thinking and His ways transcend anything I can think up on my own.  In all my ways, I will acknowledge and consider my Heavenly Father and He will direct my path.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6  NLT

Starting with Thanks

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 3:20

I am thankful for where I am right now. The Lord has blessed me with this day, this time and this place and I am grateful.  I am thankful for my life, health and my strength.  I am blessed with the gifts of love and peace that surround me.  I am thankful for the people who share my life, my hopes and my dreams.  I am grateful that despite challenges, the Lord is with me.  He provides peace that transcends the problems of today.  His presence in my life provides purpose and direction.  His promises fuel hope and faith that tomorrow will even be better.  I am so thankful.  With a foundation of gratitude, I will start this day.

I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.  Psalm 116:17 NLT

Thankful for His Peace

16 02 2016

May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13 GNT

So many people are in search of peace. They are looking to achieve even a short time of being, that is absent the worry and anxiety that the world has to offer. They seek it in a lot of places and things. You can see the earnest effort being made throughout our society. We are so blessed today that God is our source of not only peace but our hope and joy. Our heavenly Father is faithful to provide the fruits of His Spirit as we put our trust in Him. He provides daily peace and even in the middle of the storm and in the difficult situations. His peace surpasses all understanding.

What a blessing it is to experience His peace. My prayer today and in the days to come is that God’s peace will abide in our hearts and minds. And that peace will be evident to those around us so that we can be an effective witness of blessed living through His son Jesus Christ.
