A Clean Heart

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.  Psalm 51:10

Life experience can leave a residue of emotions on your heart.  Hurt, disappointment, anger and fear can linger and create a filter for viewing your life moving forward.  It is a dangerous state of being to let negative emotions to build up in your heart.  I seek a clean heart; a clear place of heart and mind.  The acts of receiving and giving forgiveness can help us to achieve a clean heart.  I am thankful that we can ask God for forgiveness for our shortcomings.  He is faithful and just to forgive us, when we ask.  We can be diligent in forgiving others.  We can let the past go….   It is a liberating approach to living that will keep us focused on what is important.  I seek a clean heart; a place where peace and joy dwells in abundance.

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.”  John 14:1





The Plan

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

His plan for me is unfolding.  This time and this place are a part of my journey.  Its blessings and its challenges are connected within my walk of faith.  I will embrace all that God has planned for me. All things are working together for my good.  I will try to keep the vision vibrant and learn the lessons along the way.  I will seek to emerge from the challenges stronger, wiser and deeper in my faith.  I will give thanks for each step and give God praise for His mercy and grace.  God has a plan for me and I am thankful. 





Refuge and Strength

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalms 46:1 NLT

Our Savior provides a safe place in the time of trouble.  It is a place of peace, protection and rest for our hearts and minds.  The stress and pressure of the season can leave us feeling tired and weary.  He knows and He cares about His children.  During prayer and meditation we can experience respite for our busy minds and burdened souls.  The Lord is our refuge.  In His presence we are rejuvenated with His strength, infused with His peace and surrounded by His love.  We are so thankful for the gifts of refuge, respite and rejuvenation that we have in God.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the Lord:  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

He is able

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV

We serve a God who created the earth and the heavens. He is powerful, loving and merciful. We are so thankful for the Gift of His Son Jesus Christ who allows us to be in relationship with Him. We may have prayers and petitions before the Lord; needs and desires that we have no idea how they will be accomplished. Once we put our petitions before the Lord, we can have confidence that He has heard our cry and that He is working our prayers together for our good. You may be praying for things regarding healing, deliverance or salvation for those you love. You may be seeking transformation to take place in our hearts and minds so that we can reach our goals and to be used more of the Lord. Whatever you are seeking, our passage is a reminder that He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. What a blessing to see the work of His hands working in our lives. Better Health, better devotion and attention to our God –given assignments. He is well able do more than we can ask or think. His response will amaze us and we are thankful.





Nurturing My Faith

The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.” The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!  St. Luke 17:5-6

I am nurturing my faith – my process of caring for and encouraging the growth of my solid trust in God.  I recognize that I am on a journey where I make decisions every day that can strengthen or discourage my faith. I choose to believe and trust in God. God is love and God loves me. His plan for me is a path of peace.  The day may bring uncertainty and challenge but I choose to trust in my Heavenly Father.  God is my Strong Tower.  He is my source of peace and strength in the midst of each day and every situation. I can put my full trust in God.  I seek to grow my faith with each experience reflecting on His grace and mercy that has brought me to now.  I am watering and feeding my faith with His Word and the testimonies of other faith travelers.  I am growing, nurturing and expanding my faith in Him. 

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

 





We’re Walking

For we live by believing and not by seeing.  II Corinthians 5:7

We are walking by faith and not by sight. We are relying on God’s Word and not the situations we have witnessed before us.  We wear our faith lens, as we consider every situation.  This lens helps us to see more clearly what thus saith the Lord and not what our deepest fears dictate.  Our walk is a sweet journey of trusting and gratefulness to our Creator.  Our faith muscles are growing and becoming stronger as we travel the pathway of life.  We’re walking by Faith.

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. Hebrews 11:1-2 MSG

We can trust God for what is ahead for us in our lives. The next step, the next endeavor, even the appointment we have this week are opportunities for us to stand firm in our faith. We can stand on the solid ground of trusting Him. Following His lead, walking in full faith gives us the confidence to move forward. We are listening carefully for the what, where, how and when from His Holy Spirit. Hearing Him, we can step out on faith and we can be certain that He is there with us. He empowers our journey to walk into our purpose. The different aspects of our lives may seem disjointed, unconnected and even undesirable but He is working…
