This is the Day

28 06 2016

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

The Creator was gracious when time was divided into daily doses. Twenty-four hour cycles allow us to plan and experience life in manageable segments. At times we are anxious to see down the road, what will happen a year from now, a week from now and even anticipate what will happen tomorrow. Thankfully, we do not have a crystal ball to see ahead. Today is a day of trusting. It’s a day of listening for direction. It’s a day of knowing that the Lord is able to keep us despite any uncertainty. We can take life one day at a time recognizing that the every detail of our lives is working together for our good. We can experience one day at a time with the Lord.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

His plan for me is unfolding.  This time and this place are a part of my journey.  Its blessings and its challenges are connected within my walk of faith.  I will embrace all that God has planned for me. All things are working together for my good.  I will try to keep the vision vibrant and learn the lessons along the way.  I will seek to emerge from the challenges stronger, wiser and deeper in my faith.  I will give thanks for each step and give God praise for His mercy and grace.  God has a plan for me and I am thankful.

Resiliency

walking feetHave I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9 ESV

The power to rebound after a set-back requires courage and faith.  We need this level of constitution in our hearts and souls for everyday living.  The unexpected in our lives will at times bring events that are designed to make us feel defeated and discouraged… but God.   When we experience a set-back we may be tempted to stay where we are to nurse our wounds but know this is the time to get-up.  The Lord has given us the tools of hope, faith, courage and determination to stand up and try again when we experience failure. This is a time to muster more strength, more courage and more faith for our relationships, our health, our ministry and our work.  We may have missed the mark last time but recognize the God in us is bigger than the challenges that we face.  We are His children and we are called to be strong and courageous.  God loves us and He helps us to learn, grow and mature into our purpose.  God is working every detail in our lives together for our good.  This promise and assurance gives us the stamina to get up and start again.

Rome Moving ForwardAnd we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT

We can trust God for what is ahead for us in our lives. The next step, the next endeavor, even the appointment we have this week are opportunities for us to stand firm in our faith. We can stand on the solid ground of trusting Him. Following His lead, walking in full faith gives us the confidence to move forward. We are listening carefully for the what, where, how and when from His Holy Spirit. Hearing Him, we can step out on faith and we can be certain that He is there with us. He empowers our journey to walk into our purpose. The different aspects of our lives may seem disjointed, unconnected and even undesirable but He is working everything together for our good. We can stand firm in faith and continue to trust Him for what’s ahead.
