Release

Lifted handsTrust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; Proverbs 3:5-6

I am trusting God with everything; today, tomorrow and even the baggage from yesterday.  God’s capable hands can transform every detail of my life into something good.  God can change the good, the bad and the ugly into something beautiful.  At times I am tempted to hold on to the situation, nurse the wound or worry about something that I can’t change.  These are fruitless actions that don’t help me to move forward.  Change comes, only when I release it all to God.  I release it in faith that my Heavenly Father loves me.  I release it in faith because His grace and His mercy are available in abundance. I release it with a heart of full of gratitude that change will come.  I release it in faith because He can do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think.  He is well able.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.  Ephesians 3:20

Guide my feet, while I run this race – cause I don’t want to run this race in vain.  On life’s journey we have to make many decisions. Each step of the way, we are compelled to ask God to direct our steps based on His will for our lives.  This scripture and the words to this old spiritual are recognition of the importance of God’s leading in our lives.  Even though we may be tempted or convinced to do what we feel is right in our hearts, if it is not aligned with God’s word or His direction, we must think again.  Yielded to His will, we are able to make Godly decisions that create the blessed life He intends for each of us.

Hold my hand, while I run this race – cause I don’t want to run this race in vain.

Nurturing my Faith

24 07 2015

TDSC_0002he apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.”

The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!

St. Luke 17:5-6

I am nurturing my faith – my process of caring for and encouraging the growth of my solid trust in God.  I recognize that I am on a journey where I make decisions every day that can strengthen or discourage my faith. I choose to believe and trust in God. God is love and God loves me. His plan for me is a path of peace.  The day may bring uncertainty and challenge but I choose to trust in my Heavenly Father.  God is my Strong Tower.  He is my source of peace and strength in the midst of each day and every situation. I can put my full trust in God.  I seek to grow my faith with each experience reflecting on His grace and mercy that has brought me to now.  I am watering and feeding my faith with His Word and the testimonies of other faith travelers.  I am growing, nurturing and expanding my faith in Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

The sixth month of the year has arrived and we are approaching the half-way point of this year.  It’s a good time to review my “to do” list.  It is not a literal list but it is probably a good time to get it down on paper.  It is late but it is not too late. Hopefully, your list is spelled out and you are checking things off.  But I find myself, thinking: What are my goals that I want to accomplish before the year ends?   What has the Lord asked me to do?  Am I diligent and focused in working toward these goals?  I need to write it down and make it plain.   I need to wake up each day with a focused and determined to reach my goals.  With the Lord’s help, I can make the best use of the seven months ahead.

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.  Proverbs 29:18 MSG

What I Know

29 04 2015

IMG_1179Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.  Proverbs 3:5-6

At times my feelings and emotions run counter to what I know in my heart. This may happen to you too. I know that our God will provide for every need but I may feel a little anxious about one commitment or another. I know that my God is a healer but worry may set in with a negative doctor’s report. I know that God provides peace and calm in the midst of the storm when at times I want to scream at the winds. I have been working on getting better at aligning my emotions with what I know. I want my first response to be based on my knowledge of my Heavenly Father and His promises to His children. I am a child of the King. Peace, love and joy should be evident in my ways, my life and even my emotions. We can mature and deepen our trust in Him and align our “what we know” with what we feel.

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. I Peter 1:5-9

Our Trust is in Him

20 01 2015

crocus snowTrust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.  Proverbs 3:5-6

We can put our trust fully in the Lord.  Our life allows us to take one step at time, one day at a time to grow, nurture and build our faith.  Our Heavenly Father loves us and has a plan for us that is full of hope.  We can continue on our path today fully trusting Him.

We put our trust in Him despite the happenings of today or tomorrow.  We put our trust in Him even when what we see before us today seems so distant from our prayers.  We may be in a place where our faith is small but take your small portion and water it with God’s promises in His Word.  Nurture your faith with the testimonies of others on the path.  Stay on the pathway of faith.   He knows all about our situation.  He is able to work all things together for our good.  Our trust is in Him.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  Hebrews 12:1

Open Heart and Minds

Sun RaysTrust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.  Proverbs 3:5-6 (Message)

We often come to making big decisions loaded with preconceived notions about what is best for our lives. We take all of our experiences, what we think we know and our feelings and collectively they influence what we desire for an outcome. We may pray earnestly for God’s will in our lives to be done around this particular outcome not fully recognizing that our Heavenly Father is all knowing and able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think. What if we were to approach each situation with an open heart and mind about God’s grace and ability to lead us and to make full provision for the path that is chosen? Yielding our hearts creates space for God to show us His superior plan. Surrendering what we think we know to the Father, who is all knowing, allows His perfect plan for our lives to reach clarity in our vision. When we seek His leading first without all the baggage of what we think is possible, it opens our eyes to a limitless God. Let us open our hearts and our minds to His vision and His plans for our lives.

Pressing Onward

Philippians 3_14

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14

It is time to move forward in what God is calling us to do. He has put it on your heart. He has given you the vision of the road ahead and it is moving day. You may have unpacked all of your things, expecting an extended stay where you are but it is time to move onward. He is calling us to move forward in our purpose. We can’t wallow in procrastination. We should not be swept up in the emotion of past disappointment and the spirit of fear is not of God. It is time to move forward. You may have wanted a full itinerary of the journey but we are required to step out on faith. We are pressing onward in wisdom and listening for His leading. He is careful to direct our path to make the next steps forward.

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5-6 Msg.
