Wear Love

13 02 2015

Rose close

So, chosen by God for this new life of love,

dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you:

compassion, kindness,

humility, quiet strength, discipline.

Be even-tempered,

content with second place,

quick to forgive an offense.

Forgive as quickly and completely

as the Master forgave you.

And regardless of what else you put on,

wear love….

It’s your basic, all-purpose garment.

Never be without it.

Colossians 3:12-14 MSG

God Loves Me

12 02 2015

March 2013 Picture IPhone 323But God is rich in mercy, and he loved us very much.  We were spiritually dead because of all we had done against him. But he gave us new life together with Christ. (You have been saved by God’s grace.)  Ephesians 2:4-5 (ERV)

I am so thankful for God’s love for me.  God loves me.  That truth alone leaves me so speechless and humbled.  The creator of the Universe loves me in this time and this place.  I am so grateful for His love that has transformed my life and envelopes my journey in purpose.  His love empowers my life with peace and joy that emanates through my relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for His love.  It has the power to save, heal and deliver every need of my heart and soul.  I am so thankful for His unfailing love for you and for me.

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.  Psalms 36:5

Guide My Feet

11 02 2015

Rome Moving ForwardTrust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.   Proverbs 3:5-6 (New Living Translation)

Guide my feet, while I run this race – cause I don’t want to run this race in vain.  On life’s journey we have to make many decisions. Each step of the way, we are compelled to ask God to direct our steps based on His will for our lives.  This scripture and the words to this old spiritual are recognition of the importance of God’s leading in our lives.  Even though we may be tempted or convinced to do what we feel is right in our hearts, if it is not aligned with God’s word or His direction, we must think again.  Yielded to His will, we are able to make Godly decisions that create the blessed life He intends for each of us.

Guide my feet, while I run this race – cause I don’t want to run this race in vain

Hold my hand, while I run this race – cause I don’t want to run this race in vain.

Resiliency

10 02 2015

Be Strong LionHave I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9 ESV

The power to rebound after a set-back requires courage and faith.  We need this level of constitution in our hearts and souls for everyday living.  The unexpected in our lives will at times bring events that are designed to make us feel defeated and discouraged… but God.   When we experience a set-back we may be tempted to stay where we are to nurse our wounds but know this is the time to get-up.  The Lord has given us the tools of hope, faith, courage and determination to stand up and try again when we experience failure. This is a time to muster more strength, more courage and more faith for our relationships, our health, our ministry and our work.  We may have missed the mark last time but recognize the God in us is bigger than the challenges that we face.  We are His children and we are called to be strong and courageous.  God loves us and He helps us to learn, grow and mature into our purpose.  God is working every detail in our lives together for our good.  This promise and assurance gives us the stamina to get up and start again.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

With my Whole Heart

6 02 2015

Lifted handsLet all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.

He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things.

Psalm 103:1-5 NLT

With my whole heart, I will praise the Name of the Lord.  He is the One who continues to do good things in my life and I am thankful.  He is a loving God that provides healing, deliverance and salvation for my soul.  I will bless the Name of the Lord.  With everything that I am, my heart, my mind and my soul, I will praise the Lord.  With everything that I do, my thoughts, my actions and even my influence, I seek to honor Him.  Let all of me praise the Lord.  He fills my life with good things and I am thankful.  The highest praise belongs to Him.  Hallelujah!

He forgives your sins—every one. He heals your diseases—every one. He redeems you from hell—saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.

Psalm 103:3-5 MSG

This is the Day

5 02 2015

IMG_1534This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalms 118:24

My heart is full of gratitude for this day.  Today is designed and made by God, so I can approach it with anticipation and hope.  My Heavenly Father loves me and has created another 24 hours of opportunities to experience His love for me.  Grace and mercy surround my journey and I am thankful.   The Holy Spirit provides guidance and strength to make good decisions about every aspect of my life.  I will listen for His direction with an open heart and mind.  I am yielded to the Lord’s higher ground for my steps and thinking.  He is leading me toward my purpose and I am thankful.

This is the day the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be happy today! Psalms 118:24 ESV

A Steadfast Spirit

4 02 2015

winter clear roadCreate in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Psalms 51:10 (Amplified)

My mind is made up to keep moving forward in Him.

My purpose is ahead of me, so I keep pressing.

My focus is on the Lord and His work for my hands.

I will keep my mind and heart encouraged.

He renews my strength.

I can keep the faith.  His plan for me is full of hope.

I know Him as my Savior.  He will never leave me.

So I continue, keep on going, stay the course, stop at nothing and go the distance.

I am steadfast in Him.

So then, Christian brothers, because of all this, be strong. Do not allow anyone to change your mind. Always do your work well for the Lord. You know that whatever you do for Him will not be wasted. I Corinthians 15:58 NLV

God at Work in Me

3 02 2015

winter snowAnd I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6

I am a work in progress.  I am on a journey that compels me to grow and mature in Him.  I continue to learn more about love, kindness and compassion.  His work in me reveals the corners of my heart where I need to replace my ways with His ways.  The Holy Spirit nudges me into new places of peace and understanding.  I am grateful for God’s grace and mercy that allows me to live in relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.  He is our Savior and the ultimate example for how to love and pray for one another.  His Word is the ultimate guide for our living.  I have much work to do but I am thankful that I am not where I’ve been.  His work is continuing in me.

The Word is working mightily in me

The Word is working mightily in me

No matter what the circumstances what I feel or see

The Word is working mightily in me

Take Your Everday, Ordinary Life

2 02 2015

crocus snowSo here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.  Romans 12:1-2 MSG

God brings out the best in me when I submit my life fully to Him.  A submitted life in His hands can take the good, the bad and the ugly and transform it into a life that I could not have imagined.  I can submit my whole self and exchange my will for His will, my plan for His plan.  His vision and plan for my life takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary.  His plan for us is built on a foundation of peace and is full of hope.  I can present my whole life before Him; my health, my past hurts and disappointments, my shortcomings, my relationships, my family and my future.  I can submit it all to Him.  His arms are always open.  His hand is always extended.  With an open heart, He can begin the work of changing my life from the inside out.  With my attention fixed on Him, He will direct a new path for me.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.  Romans 12:1

My Present Help

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Psalm 46:1Lifted hands

He is my refuge.  In the midst of a storm, He is a place where I can find peace and protection.  A refuge is a place of safety, when trouble seems to surround me.  In Him, I can find a place of covering for my heart and mind in every situation.  I thank you Lord for you are my refuge.

He is my strength.  His strength is perfected in my weakness.  I can look to Him for the added strength I need to face what is ahead.  He gives me the renewed will and power to face the challenges of the day.  I thank you God for your perfect strength.

He is my present help.  The Lord provides help that is complete.  His blessings provide for every need.  He supplies all of my needs.  Healing, deliverance, salvation and guidance are all available to His children.  I thank God for His present, right now help.

I am seeking and praising You for your refuge, strength and present help today and for the days ahead.

Surely God is my help;  the Lord is the one who sustains me.
