ou intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20 NIV
Our hearts are designed to be healthy full of peace and love. It is a large vital muscle within us that gets stronger as we extend our love and compassion to others. Acts of love circulate wellness throughout our being and emanate out to God’s people – using kind and encouraging words and extending genuine concern to those who are in need. We can keep our hearts healthy being careful not to let unforgiveness, jealousy and other blockages that create harm to our bodies and to the Body of Christ. Some of our life experiences seem to be designed to do irreparable harm – betrayal, abuse, disappointment. Thanks be to God that our hearts and experiences in the hands of the Savior can turn what the enemy planned for evil into good. Our passage today is from the familiar account of Joseph’s brothers who left him to die in a pit because of their jealousy against him. What an unthinkable act of betrayal. Joseph when encountering his brothers later did not seek vengeance but found forgiveness in his heart seeing the larger picture and how God turned this evil act into something good. I believe God is able to do this for each of us who may need the heart work of forgiveness and the healing of fresh wounds and scars. God is the ultimate heart surgeon, who can complete the work when we place our heart and our will in His hands.

He Renews My Strength
12 11 2013He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name. Psalm 23:3 NLT
The Lord provides strength when we need it. I am so thankful for this promise and blessing that has come to my rescue so many times. Weariness in body and spirit is often a sign for the need for rest. For many, we carry a super hero façade, pushing our minds and bodies to meet every obligation. Then there are days when our super hero cape feels a little frayed and tattered at the edges. These are signs that we need rest and renewal. We may need planned time to rest, exercise, meditate and spend time talking with our Heavenly Father. I am thankful that God gives us rest; real rest that allows your body to heal and recover from the stressful and busy lives that we lead. I am thankful that He blesses us with a renewed outlook with fresh eyes for His vision for our lives and our walk with Him. His Holy Spirit is a guiding force for our steps and the way we should go. His leading points us in the direction of our blessed purpose. He provides the renewed strength along the journey that allows us to reach our destination. And we are thankful.

Our Vision – Strong and Able
7 05 2013Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. III John 1:2
My vision for my health is that I will be strong and able. God created the human body as an amazing organism that supports healthy living, well into our senior years. Our health is a blessing that we can treasure. As God’s children we can strive to be a good steward in reaching and maintaining optimal health. We know more now than at any other era in time about how to support our health through healthy eating, exercise and rest. We know how harmful habits of smoking, overeating and a sedentary lifestyle can lead to disease and sickness. We were created to be an active, strong and able people. Each day we can take steps toward this vision of our lives. We may be in a place where we need healing or direction on how to get there but our God is faithful to answer our prayers. He desires to provide healing for our bodies. He will give us instruction on how to move our health in the right direction. Eating fruits and vegetables is a key for me. A consistent active lifestyle with exercise will keep my body and my mind strong. I am thankful for this time of re-dedication to my best life so that I can work toward being strong and able.
Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
Psalm 103:2-5 NLT

Our Point of Need
24 04 2013And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NIV
I am so thankful that the Lord meets us right at our point of need. Whatever we may be facing, the Lord knows about it and is able and willing to provide for us. He is Jehovah Jireh, Our Provider. His blessings come in both in tangible and intangible means. My heart is full of thanks for His provision of strength, revival and encouragement. He can encourage our hearts and give us the wisdom to move in the right direction. At times we can feel a little over whelmed by the demands of the days ahead but the Holy Spirit will remind us that we can make it in Him. He sends people across your path with the words and deeds that help us in ways we could not have imagined. We are never alone. We can look to our Savior for His help. He is so faithful and I am so thankful.
And now I have it all-and keep getting more! The gifts you sent with Epaphroditus were more than enough, like a sweet-smelling sacrifice roasting on the altar, filling the air with fragrance, pleasing God no end. You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. Our God and Father abounds in glory that just pours out into eternity. Yes. Philippians 4:18-20 MSG

He is My Strength
11 04 2013The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” Isaiah 12:2b NLT
We can turn to the Lord when we need strength. He can renew our mind, spirit and bodies so that we can keep moving forward. With a renewed mind, the Lord can bless our thinking to be more effective on any task. I have been focused on moving my home of eighteen years, a place of peace and joy. So many blessed memories come with each box and the many items that I have been sorting through. I have made some progress but I could use a second wind this morning to face the tasks ahead. I am thanking God in advance for renewed strength and added joy for this day, this time and all that will be accomplished today. I am so thankful that we can ask the Lord for strength and all the blessings that follow. I will trust in Lord, He is my strength and my song for both you and for me.

Creator and Healer
19 03 2013“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases” Psalm 103:2-3
Our God created us and can provide healing for our bodies. The human body is an amazing unit with different bodily systems that work together that allow us to live. It is a wondrous creation to see a heartbeat or to witness how our brains transmit messages to our limbs to move and walk. So many amazing functions leave us in awe when we consider their quality and ability. It is our God’s desire that we live in health. We thank God that He provides healing when our bodies experience disease or other ailments that cause them to work improperly. He does provide healing in response to believing prayer and we are so thankful. His healing touch can transform our bodies with restored health and we are thankful. Let us honor this precious gift acting as a good steward of the body that we have been given, healthy eating, active lifestyle with exercise and even proper sleep.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” III John 2

Renewal Comes
26 02 2013Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLV
We thank God for renewed mind and spirit today. Jesus can bring a fresh wind in our hearts and minds that give us a renewed sense of purpose and the energy to move in His direction. It comes with a refreshed mind and eyes that can see with a grateful heart of His goodness, His grace and His mercy. We are so thankful that God is our Heavenly Father that can turn our difficult situations into opportunities to grow and to expand and to become the individuals that He is calling us to be. We may be going through a situation that seems long and arduous but there is an end that will come. The hurt will soften and heal, the answer will become clear and God will provide the grace and mercy for you to be able to move forward. We thank God for being the source of renewal and revival in our lives.

Change Your Life
7 01 2013Christian brothers, I ask you from my heart to give your bodies to God because of His loving-kindness to us. Let your bodies be a living and holy gift given to God. He is pleased with this kind of gift. This is the true worship that you should give Him. Do not act like the sinful people of the world. Let God change your life. First of all, let Him give you a new mind. Then you will know what God wants you to do. And the things you do will be good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
We serve a great God who deserves all the honor and glory for being our Heavenly Father. God loves us and sent His son, Jesus Christ so that we might receive the gift of Salvation. We are so thankful for this gift and the opportunity to be in relationship with Him. Aligning our daily living with His Will and His Word is our reasonable service. We desire our lives, our example, our thoughts and deeds to honor and glorify God. Wherever we find ourselves today, the Lord is able to transform us and elevate our abilities with a changed mind and renewed spirit. We can present all that we have, our time, our talents and our will, as a living sacrifice to what He is calling us to do and change our lives.
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life-and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 Msg.

Inner Strength
24 08 2012When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
Our spiritual growth is essential to our survival as we walk with Jesus Christ. We need to continually seek to be strengthened with His Spirit, so that our thoughts, our words and our actions reflect Him. We are often preoccupied with what we think, want and feel. If it is not consistent with God’s word, it is not of Him. If it does not reflect Holiness or His love then it is not of Him. This passage blesses me to know about God’s tremendous love for us all. It is immeasurable. We need to be strengthened with His Spirit, through prayer, reading His word and dedicated time with the Lord. My prayers today are for inner strength that will allow us to achieve a steady walk with Him. He has unlimited power to complete the work in us, as we put our trust in Him.
My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit-not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength-that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.
God can do anything, you know-far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Glory to God in the church!
Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
Glory down all the generations!
Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!
Ephesians 3:14-21 MSG
