New Mercies

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23

The Lord provides mercy each day and I am thankful.  It is a renewed gift every morning that we experience His mercy.  His mercy gives us a fresh start and an opportunity to begin again.  The Lord shows us compassion and patience that is wrapped in His love for us.  His mercy is great and unfailing when I present my life to Him.  He sees me; my whole life, the effort, the personal struggles, my hopes and my dreams.  He sees the successes and the shortcomings.  Yet His mercy is still available to me.  I am humbled that His unmerited grace and mercy allow me to begin again with each new day.  I am thankful for this day and seek to be a good steward of all that He has given me to move forward in my purpose.

Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant. Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.

Psalms 119:76-77

Help is Here!

12 08 2015

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3

Our Heavenly Father provides countless blessings to us as His children. He is faithful to be with us always and provides help to us along our journey in this life. We give praises with our hands and hearts lifted to God for this powerful blessing that has the ability to provide strength and protection in any situation. We live in a time when change and problems may arise quickly like rising flood waters but we are not consumed. God provides a place of refuge, safety, peace and well-being, even during the storm. We can look to Him for direction, for wisdom and peace concerning whatever we are facing – health, jobs, finances, relationships – listening and obedient to His direction. In our passage today, God is described in the present tense for each of these blessings: God is our refuge. God is our strength. God is a very present help in trouble. He is our Help now and forevermore.

God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need Him.
We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in sea storm and earthquake,
Before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains.
Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God-of-Angel-Armies protects us.

Psalm 46:1-3 MSG

Thankful for the Journey

6 08 2015

walking encouragedAnd he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. II Corinthians 12:9

God’s grace and mercy help to shape our path along life’s journey. We experience peaks, valleys, twists and turns along the way creating this journey we call life. What a blessing that along the way, we grow, mature and learn in our walk with the Lord. Our experiences teach us valuable lessons about many aspects of living according to His word.

Whatever God’s Grace may bring into our lives, we can be assured that He is with us and He is able to provide for our needs. This passage reminds us that His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  I am so thankful for salvation and my life journey that the Lord has created for me. Sometimes we would like to know about the unexpected and to avoid the undesired events in our lives but our Faithful Father promised to provide the strength that we need. This journey will make us stronger as we put our faith and trust in Him. His grace is sufficient for me.

My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak. I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power over me.  II Corinthians 12:9 GNT

Holding His Hand

5 08 2015

March 2013 Picture IPhone 323Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Psalms 73:23-26

I am so thankful that we can hold on to the Lord’s hand.  His hand is a strong, loving, consistent presence in my life.  No matter what the day brings, I can hold tightly to my Heavenly Father’s hand.  He is the One who infuses peace, love and strength into my heart and soul.  I am so thankful to serve an active, living God who cares about me.  I am holding onto the Lord’s hand.

He Shines Through

DSC03705Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”  John 8:12

At times we find ourselves in difficult situations; dark places where things seem insurmountable.  I am so thankful that the light of Jesus Christ pierces through the darkness to provide new view on everything in our situations.  He is the light of the world.  He came that we might have life.  His light and the life that He has planned for us is full of His love and peace.  We can trust the Son to Shine through the darkness and provide His wonderful light.

Did We

27 07 2015

DSC_1054When it is night and we look back on today,  Did we praise GOD spontaneously?

Did we make any enemies knowingly?

Did we ponder on how we could help someone in distress?

Did we help anyone perspire any less?

Did we take stock of our life, reducing material things to mere dust?

Did we add warmth and peace where there was coldness and fuss?

Did we cause someone to smile or laugh to joyous tears?

Did we prepare for our own death without any fears?

Did we inspire anyone to do good like we knew they should?

Did we paint a picture of Christ who for everyone he stood?

Did we shine the light of Christ to help someone see?

Again, did we praise GOD spontaneously?

All that I am

10 07 2015

DSC_0002Let all that I am praise the Lord;     with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord;     may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins     and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death     and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things.     My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

Psalms 103:1-5

Pray About Everything

1 07 2015

HydrangeasDon’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.   Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:6-9

Wear Love

29 06 2015

Walking in thanksSo, chosen by God for this new life of love,

dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you:

compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline.

Be even-tempered, content with second place,

quick to forgive an offense.

Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you.

And regardless of what else you put on, wear love.

It’s your basic, all-purpose garment.

Never be without it.

Colossians 3:12-14MSG

Heavy Load

26 06 2015

Rome Moving ForwardCast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.  Psalm 55:22

Living in world full of people, we experience many things in life. As followers of Christ, we are always compelled to respond with our faith and trust in God.   No matter what the situation, its magnitude and size, our Heavenly Father is greater than anything we face. Some challenges arrive on our doorstep, as a heavy load that burdens our hearts and minds. The weight sometimes clouds our vision and moves us in the wrong direction. I believe heavy loads are God’s area of expertise to help us. We can cast our care on him for He loves and cares for us. The all knowing God is able to work things out for our good. Our Father also provides a God-given peace along the way. Whatever we face today we can turn over our problems, our cares and even our heavy loads to God and leave them in His capable and loving hands.

Follow My teachings and learn from Me. I am gentle and do not have pride. You will have rest for your souls. For My way of carrying a load is easy and My load is not heavy. Matthew 11:29-30
