I give You thanks!

29 10 2014

DSCF0817I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.

Every king in all the earth will thank you, Lord, for all of them will hear your words. Yes, they will sing about the Lord’s ways, for the glory of the Lord is very great. Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.

Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.

Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

Psalms 138 NLT

Renewal Comes

28 10 2014

DSC03705Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLV

We thank God for renewed mind and spirit today. Jesus can bring a fresh wind in our hearts and minds that give us a renewed sense of purpose and the energy to move in His direction. It comes with a refreshed mind and eyes that can see with a grateful heart of His goodness, His grace and His mercy. We are so thankful that God is our Heavenly Father that can turn our difficult situations into opportunities to grow and to expand and to become the individuals that He is calling us to be. We may be going through a situation that seems long and arduous but there is an end that will come. The hurt will soften and heal, the answer will become clear and God will provide the grace and mercy for you to be able to move forward. We thank God for being the source of renewal and revival in our lives.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 NLV

Close and Closer

27 10 2014

Walking in thanksCome close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8 NLV

We want to stay close to the Savior. He is the source of our strength, peace and joy. Daily living can create distance if we allow the noise of our lives to overwhelm us. Careers, work, school, family and the incessant breaking news can leave us feeling weary, if we let it. Staying close and connected to the Savior can keep us fueled and thriving when we need it most. Avoiding the pitfalls of unforgiveness, bitterness and sin can create unnecessary wedges between where we are and where we need to be. Coming closer is actively eliminating things that can come between us and God. We may need to reach out to Him for strength. We may need to talk to Him in prayer about what is on our heart. We may need to ask for forgiveness for shortcomings. We may need to spend more time reading and meditating His Word. Whatever it is that we need to do to come closer, He is available and waiting for us to take those steps toward Him. If you are in a place, where you think you are far away, a simple step of turning toward Him puts you in the right direction. Reaching out to Him, the Savior can meet us right where we are. We want and need to stay close to Jesus. Staying close to Him is a safe place and the best place for blessed living.

Showing Himself Strong

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. II Chronicles 6:9

My heart is filled with praise for our Heavenly Father who continues to show Himself strong in our lives. He provides healing, strength and protection in the midst of all that surrounds us.  He is the fence that encircles our minds, bodies and souls.  He provides peace that surpasses all understanding.  We give Him praise for the blessings that continue to manifest in response to His Word.  He shows Himself strong.

All the Glory

23 10 2014

Sun RaysBe exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth. Psalms 57:5

We give God all the glory! We give Him all the Praise!  We are so thankful for how the Lord manifests himself in our lives.  He provides blessings above and beyond all that we can ask or think.  He is so faithful to attend to our needs and He makes a way for us in a manner beyond our imagination.  We give Him praise.  Our situations are not a surprise to Him.  He is the one that orders our steps and guides our path.  At times we may find our self in unfathomable crisis but we are never alone.  He is with us and we are compelled always to stand in faith.  Our trust should always be in Him.  Believing, trusting and praising God in expectancy of His blessings in our lives.  He is worthy of our trust.  He is worthy of all our praise.  We give God all the Glory.

Praise in the Middle

22 10 2014

Lifted handsPraise in the Middle

I will praise the Lord at all times.

I will constantly speak his praises.

I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart.

Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 34:1-3

Our God is Great and well-deserving of our continuous praise. I find my best days are when I start and finish the day with the Lord’s goodness on my heart and mind. With a song in my heart about His faithfulness, His greatness and His love for me, it is difficult to let discouragement in my day. Some days may be more difficult than others but when we surround ourselves with His word, His praises on our lips, His songs of praise, He is faithful to encourage our hearts. This is true even in the middle of great challenges. He is faithful to deliver us of fear and to provide the peace we need for blessed living. Bless His Holy Name.

With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, Psalm 86:12

Our Point of Need

21 10 2014

DSC03705And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NIV

I am so thankful that the Lord meets us right at our point of need. Whatever we may be facing, the Lord knows about it and is able and willing to provide for us.  He is Jehovah Jireh, Our Provider.  His blessings come in both in tangible and intangible means.  My heart is full of thanks for His provision of strength, revival and encouragement. He can encourage our hearts and give us the wisdom to move in the right direction.  At times we can feel a little over whelmed by the demands of the days ahead but the Holy Spirit will remind us that we can make it in Him.  He sends people across your path with the words and deeds that help us in ways we could not have imagined.  We are never alone.  We can look to our Savior for His help.  He is so faithful and I am so thankful.

And now I have it all-and keep getting more! The gifts you sent with Epaphroditus were more than enough, like a sweet-smelling sacrifice roasting on the altar, filling the air with fragrance, pleasing God no end. You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. Our God and Father abounds in glory that just pours out into eternity. Yes.  Philippians 4:18-20 MSG

The Secret Place

20 10 2014

Psalm 91Barcelona 2013 032

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
    will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
    he is my God, and I trust him.

 For he will rescue you from every trap
    and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
    He will shelter you with his wings.
    His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
    nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side,
    though ten thousand are dying around you,
    these evils will not touch you.

 Just open your eyes,
    and see how the wicked are punished.

If you make the Lord your refuge,
    if you make the Most High your shelter,
no evil will conquer you;
    no plague will come near your home.
For he will order his angels
    to protect you wherever you go.
 They will hold you up with their hands
    so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
You will trample upon lions and cobras;
    you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
    I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation.”

My Rock

17 10 2014

Arizona Hills by Lori 2012 I love you, LORD; you are my strength.
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety.
I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and he saved me from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3 NLT

The Lord is my Rock and my Fortress. We need a firm foundation for our lives and for our living. In Him, we live in safety. He is our fortress. The world offers a shifting landscape but the Lord provides firm footing and a safe place. No matter what we are facing, we can depend on Him. He is God. He is our strong tower, a place of refuge and a place of protection. We give honor and praise to our Heavenly Father for these blessings that surround us. We thank Him for guided steps and guided thinking. We thank Him for an inclined heart to His will and His ways. In His will, we are safe and protected. The Lord is my Rock and my Fortress.

I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will never be shaken.
Psalm 62:1-2 NLT

Fear Not

16 10 2014

Barcelona 2013 032For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

II Timothy 1:7

The Spirit of Fear is not of Him.  Fear is a strong emotion that we have experienced at one time or another.  It emanates from a perceived threat and changes our thinking, our behavior and even how our body works.  It can be a strong immobilizing factor if we don’t recognize its source.  This passage reminds us that it is not of God.  As His children, we are compelled to put our trust in the Lord, to have faith and to reject fear.  His promises to us are contrary to the fear that we may have concerning our safety, our health, our finances, our lives.  We must put our faith in God.

He gives us Power and Love. As His children, he provides power and love to overcome the challenges of daily living.  He gives us the strength to face whatever is ahead. His power is gives us the strength to stand tall in the face of adversity.  In the most difficult situations, we must continue to respond in love.  Even when uncertainty is on the rise, we can live strong and with love.  We must put our faith in God.

He gives us a Sound Mind.  We are thankful to God that we are able to keep sound thinking, sound decision making as He guides our steps.   Even when we are challenged on every side, we will discipline our thinking not to embrace fear that is not based on His Word.  We will keep our faith in God.  He is well able and our faith is in Him.

We are thanking God for His power and love and a sound mind.   We will not fear.  Our trust is in the Lord.
