He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name. Psalm 23:3 NLT

The Lord provides strength when we need it. I am so thankful for this promise and blessing that has come to my rescue so many times. Weariness in body and spirit is often a sign for the need for rest. For many, we carry a super hero façade, pushing our minds and bodies to meet every obligation. Then there are days when our super hero cape feels a little frayed and tattered at the edges. These are signs that we need rest and renewal. We may need planned time to rest, exercise, meditate and spend time talking with our Heavenly Father. I am thankful that God gives us rest; real rest that allows your body to heal and recover from the stressful and busy lives that we lead. I am thankful that…

Purpose

11 04 2016

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

I have a purpose. My existence is not a mistake.  I am not an afterthought.  My purpose was designed by the Creator.  The Creator intends for me to live and for my life to have meaning.  God knows His awesome plan for my life.  His plan is full of HOPE.  God does not intend evil for my life.  God’s plan is full of expectancy; hope, love and a bright future.  As God’s creation, my mission is to seek His purpose for me.  His purpose is my priority.  Making His plan my plan will help me to fulfill my purpose.  I am seeking to live and thrive in His purpose.

Stay Strong

8 04 2016

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1 NLT

We have to stay connected to our source of strength to stay strong. The Lord is our strength and our refuge.  We can stay connected to Him through prayer, meditation, reading His Word and worship.  I need His strength to stand strong and to keep moving forward.  His strength empowers me to stand firm even when situations may be swirling around me.  He is our strength.  He is our refuge.  He is my strong tower.  I am thankful that we can go to Him, whenever we need to reenergized for the day ahead.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Psalm 18:10

Beginning with Him

7 04 2016

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.  Psalm 5:3

I want to begin today with the Lord. I want to take just a little time to pray and talk to Jesus.  I need to let Him know that I am thankful for His abundance of blessings.  I need to recognize who he is in my life.  I want to take a moment to read from His Word.  I want to take some to time to connect with the source of my strength and peace.  I have so many priorities and so many things on my to-do list.  My early connection with Him will allow His direction to permeate my day and keep me aligned with my purpose. As a start today, I want to begin with acknowledging the Lord in my life.  I want to begin with Him.

The Lord is working everything together for my good!

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

His Perfect Peace

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 NLT

The Lord provides perfect peace for those who focus on Him. When my personal peace is elusive and hard to find, it’s time to take inventory of my thought life.  I need to consider what is consuming my time and my thoughts.  When I am not focused on the Lord and my trust in Him, worry sets in, that is followed by anxiety and then depression begins to appear.  It can be a debilitating process if I don’t change course.  I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit provides reminders to return our focus to the Lord.  We can turn our hearts and minds to Him when we need His peace.  When we concentrate on the Lord, His goodness, His faithfulness and His complete love for us, our mind is renewed and we can begin again.  His perfect peace follows our decision to focus on Him.  Staying focused on Him provides a constant flow of peace for our hearts and minds.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Spring Cleaning

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

A new season allows us to turn the page and begin again. We survived the cold days of winter and we have begun to experience hints and signs of spring.  With a new season, it is time to clean out the residue of the last season.  All the heart clutter has to go.   Any hard feelings and unforgiveness have to be released.  Any fear and anxiety has to be let go.  We are a seeking a clean heart with our trust firmly in the Lord.  Sweeping out emotions not aligned with God creates new space.  Clearing out the clutter of our hearts and minds, gives Him the space to do the new thing He desires for us.  Hope, joy, peace and love are in His plans for us.  Spring cleaning clears the way for Him to step in and move closer to His purpose for us.

For I am about to do something new.

See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?

I will make a pathway through the wilderness.

I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Isaiah 43:19

Thankful for His Sacrifice

25 03 2016

March 2013 Picture IPhone 323

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

My heart is full of thanksgiving for the Savior. Jesus gave His life that I might live whole and free.  The gift of salvation is a blessing beyond measure.  It is humbling and fills my heart with gratitude when I think of His love and sacrifice for me and everyone in this world.  He came to give us an abundant life and the ability to walk with our Creator and Heavenly Father.  I give thanks today for this Gift of love, as we reflect on His sacrifice on the cross for each of us.  His sacrifice made my salvation possible and I am thankful.

At Rest

24 03 2016

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. Psalm 23:3

I can rest in the Lord. As I move through the day, my heart and mind acknowledges the blessing of being in relationship with the Savior.  Whatever the day brings, I am not alone.  The Lord is with me and His love for me makes everything well.  Challenges are present, the world’s discord can surround me but within my being I can experience His peace, His love and even His joy.  I can leave worry and anxiety behind.  It is a blessing to experience His rest.  Tucked inside His grace, I experience His refuge and protection and I am thankful.  I can rest in the Lord.

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23
