HIS Praise, My Deliverance

6 07 2011

I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together. I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.  Psalm 34 1-4

Our Heavenly Father is a great God, worthy of all of our praise and worthy of our praise at all times. God is faithful, all knowing and loves us unfailingly. Just thinking of the work of His hands in my life reminds me of His greatness. I am humbled by His love and faithfulness to me and the details of my life. My praise leads me to a place of acknowledgment of the sovereignty of God and that there is nothing too hard for Him. Before I understood what I needed, God was working on my behalf.  He is truly a great God. My praise and my trust belong to Him.

Strength for Today

5 07 2011

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:13

Today is a precious gift.  No matter how the day ends, we will never be able to relive or recapture the time available to us on this day.  I have a lot of things and maybe an unreasonable amount of tasks that I hope to accomplish today.  So I want to put first things first.  I am so thankful for the opportunity of today that I am asking God for wisdom, clarity of direction and strength to accomplish what is needed according to His plan for my life.  I don’t want to squander time with distractions and toiling.  I am asking our faithful Father to provide laser focus on His will and His ways for me.  I will honor God in my thinking and my actions, with full confidence that He is able to activate the gifts in me to advance His plans for my life today.

We thank you God for strength for today.

Still Trusting

30 06 2011

“You keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”  Isaiah 26:3-4

Faith is the evidence of things not seen. This calls us to imagine our situation in a blessed condition even when things may appear to be so far from our prayer. We have to continue to say, act and move forward according to God’s promises – even when the bank balance is low, the doctors report is negative or other disappointments may come our way. Even when we don’t understand, we have to have faith and trust that He is working it out  for our good. Our faithful Father is working on our behalf and He promises to be with us every step of the way. Our Trust is in the Lord.

I Can Do All Things

28 06 2011

I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.  Philippians 4:13

Dear Father-

I can do all things through Christ who provides strength and power. In every situation, I can find comfort and confidence that You will help me to accomplish what You have called me to do. I thank You God for Your direction in what to do and how to do each assignment. I thank You for providing the talents and resources to complete the task. Today, I will walk in assurance and without fear that You are with me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Amen

Plus Love

27 06 2011

Trust the Lord, and do good things.

Live in the land, and practice being faithful.

Be happy with the Lord,

and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Entrust your ways to the Lord.

Trust him, and he will act on your behalf.   Psalm 37:4 – 5

Our God loves us so much. As a faithful Father, He sees our needs and the desires of our heart. As we put our trust in the Lord and commit our ways based on His Word, God continues to act on our behalf. He responds to our trust, our faith and our delight in His ways. What a blessing that God loves us and cares for us to meet our need and will give us plus love with the desires of our heart.

Perfecting Me

24 06 2011

The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psalm 138:8

At this stage of my life I’m expecting to see growth and maturity in my walk with the Lord. My faith should be stronger, my love for others should be evident and I should be able to stand firm when the winds blow.  I am expecting more peace, more joy and more contentment that doesn’t change like the weather forecast. Well, as you might have imagined, I have some work to do. I am thankful for His mercy and His grace that continues this process. Wherever we are in our journey, God is faithful to the work of His hands.  As His children we can have confidence that He will continue the work that He has begun in us.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Reminder – Show Me Your Ways

23 06 2011

Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Psalm 25:4  (New Living Translation)

Life is full of decisions, big and small. Most people spend a lifetime trying to get it right.  Others invest their efforts in discovering what others have to say about our world and how we should live. Our motivations range from the totally self-serving to an earnest desire to create a better world for today and for generations to come. God’s word and the Holy Spirit provide a foundation for the daily and the more profound decisions we make. I am thankful that we can look to God in faith for direction to help us sort it all out.

Everything with Joy

22 06 2011

We ask him to strengthen you by his glorious might with all the power you need to patiently endure everything with joy – Colossians 1:11 (God’s Word Translation)

Some people are blessed with the ability to approach life with a positive outlook despite the many things that may be happening at the time in their lives. It is a quality that I admire in my husband. He expresses the contentment of the blessing of the day even when it may be filled with challenges.

The scripture today is one of Paul’s prayers for other believers to be strengthened by God and to “patiently endure everything with joy”.  It is a reminder of our God’s ability to provide the divine blessings of strength, patience and a glad heart in every circumstance.  In the bible, Joy is described in the many ways that it is the “natural outcome of the fellowship with God”.  What a blessing that we can approach our Father to experience these precious gifts as we continue to serve Him.

Keep the Gift Alive

21 06 2011

For this reason I remind you to keep alive the gift that God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.  II Timothy 1:6-7

Our gracious Father has blessed each believer with a gift. It is wonderful to know that despite our shared humanity that we each have a unique gift and ability that God has endowed in us. Each gift is precious and each gift plays an essential role within the Body of Christ. Our everyday life can be full of busy, where expressing or using our gift becomes an elusive priority. The dynamics of the times can also mislead us into allowing fear to become dominant in our thinking. This passage reminds us of the importance of keeping the Gift alive and that we should move in the confidence of the Holy Spirit which provides – power, love and self-control.

Today, we are praying for us to be reminded of God’s gift in us and that we can walk in confidence with power, love and discipline to fully expressing this gift in God’s service.

Singing a New Song

20 06 2011

Sing a new song to the Lord; he has done wonderful things! By his own power and holy strength he has won the victory.  Psalm 98:1

Today, I am singing a new song that reflects the greatness of my God. Our Heavenly Father is so faithful to meet our every need that includes peace, strength and joy. God provides comfort, a peace that surpasses all understanding and joy that makes my soul smile. What a blessing it is to sing about His love, His faithfulness and the victory He provides for our lives. God is great and our praise belongs to Him.

Dear Father-

I will sing a new song. With a
glad heart I give thanks for this day. You provided the blessing of life and I
am grateful. I am happy for another opportunity to serve You. I will approach
the day with a song of praise in my heart and share joy with others. I thank
You God for Your joy and Your peace that abides in my soul.

Amen
