And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6

As long as we are still on our life’s journey, we continue to be a work in progress. Each day is a chance to grow and mature in the way we think and feel. I am thankful for the journey and the Lord’s promise to continue His work in us. His Holy Spirit continues to reveal things in our hearts and minds that need to change and to mature. Places where we have stored up resentment or hard feelings come into the spotlight and we are compelled to respond. Jesus is asking us to release our hearts to Him and choose to respond with love, forgiveness and a higher path in Him. We may want to hesitate to let go of things that may have taken up residence in our lives but God is able to help us to clean them out and to replace those feelings with love, peace and healing. In His hands, He can take any situation and transform it into something with beauty that gives us strength for the road ahead.

As we approach this day, we can consider what things Jesus is showing to us about ourselves that need to change.  We can respond with repentance, we can seek reconciliation and we can forgive. We can release our hearts to Him and let Him continue the work of love in our lives.

Forgiveness and Healing

IMG_1179He is the one who forgives all your sins, the one who heals all your diseases.

Psalm 103:3 God’s Word

The gifts of forgiveness and healing are eternal gifts from our Heavenly Father.  The acts of asking and receiving forgiveness bring restoration to our relationship with Jesus Christ. He is faithful and just to forgive us when we have fallen short, whether we are on the first day or the 10,000th day of our journey with Him. What a blessing of love and mercy that God has for us.

The sincere words of “I’m sorry” or “please forgive me” can bring a world of good to our earthly relationships too. Most misunderstandings can be turned in the right direction with the petition of forgiveness. We pray today for new and restored relationships with the Father. We also pray for the blessing of healed relationships between family, friends and wherever…

Close and Closer

Seeking to be closer to the Savior!

Terri's Wellspring's avatarTerri's Wellspring

another sunrise

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8 NLV

We want to stay close to the Savior. He is the source of our strength, peace and joy. Daily living can create distance if we allow the noise of our lives to overwhelm us. Careers, work, school, family and the incessant breaking news can leave us feeling weary, if we let it. Staying close and connected to the Savior can keep us fueled and thriving when we need it most. Avoiding the pitfalls of unforgiveness, bitterness and sin can create unnecessary wedges between where we are and where we need to be. Coming closer is actively eliminating things that can come between us and God. We may need to reach out to Him for strength. We may need…

Fan the Flame

We are using our gifts for His Glory!

Flames

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. II Timothy 1:6-7 NLT

We were each born with a God-given purpose. We are equipped with unique abilities that give us all the tools and talents needed to accomplish our assignment. During our life’s journey, we explore and nurture our gifts as we accept the call on our lives for God’s service. We are all called to serve. We may not be called to proclaim God’s Word from a pulpit but in our families, our communities and in our interactions with one another we are to demonstrate God’s love in ways that fulfill our purpose. Our hands, our words, our tasks emanate His love, His compassion, His mercy that…

Experience His Peace

Thankful for HIS Peace

Terri's Wellspring's avatarTerri's Wellspring

Sparkling Fallview

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

We can have peace that surpasses all understanding. It is a peace that comes from God. He can provide the serenity and a calm that does not depend on the circumstance of the day. Whatever we are facing, we can turn to the Lord in prayer. We can share what is in our hearts and leave our concerns in His powerful and capable hands. With thanksgiving, we can give praises to God for all that He has done. Our passage for today reminds us that after prayer and thanksgiving, we CAN experience God’s peace. His peace can arrive in the…

Nooks and Crannies

21 07 2014

Terri's Wellspring's avatarTerri's Wellspring

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Matthew 22:37-40

DSC03998We are so blessed that God will reveal things to us about what is down inside; the things that are pleasing and the things that need to change in our thinking and our behavior. They may be things that are just under the surface or find themselves down in the crevices of our thinking. I call them the “nooks and crannies” of our living. Our thoughts and deeds should reflect His love and His ways. Some times during our everyday living, we discover a hard place in our attitudes toward others that may not be loving, maybe judgmental or lack…

The Good Things

He is Good!

Terri's Wellspring's avatarTerri's Wellspring

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. Psalm 103:2

We live blessed lives and often beyond measure. We could take it for granted that we live in this place, at this time with the people who love us. But when I think of the miracle of my life with the abundant experiences of love, peace and joy, I am thankful. We often think of tangible things, when we picture God’s benefits. I am also thankful for God’s provision and so thankful for peace in my mind and soul that allows me to know that I am blessed. I am thankful for all the good things that our Heavenly Father provides.

All That I Need

14 07 2014

Crew (48 of 86)The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalms 23:1

This verse is familiar with a powerful message for His children.  It is worthy of our meditation and our full comprehension of His role as the Good Shepherd.  He provides for all of our spiritual and natural needs. Food, shelter, safety, peace, deliverance, comfort, healing and joy are all available from the Savior.  He is my Shepherd; I have all that I need. My provisions are met.  What is required for me to achieve my purpose is available to me.  This is a state of abundance and a promise that we should hide in our heart and inhabit our thinking.   Where I am right now with what I have right now is enough.  The Shepherd, our Savior, is leading. His grace for me is sufficient.  He is preparing me at each juncture for the next step ahead.  The Shepherd provides for all of my needs.  I lack nothing, as I follow Him.   And I am thankful.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalms 23

Spread His Joy

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

The Word of God provides such a powerful source of instruction, strength and encouragement to our lives. I am so blessed to be able to read its words and the different translations that illuminate the depths and richness of God’s words to us. The word joy appears in the Bible many times. I love that it appears as both a noun and a verb. It is something that we can both experience and do. “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation” appears in Habakkuk 3:18. It is a conscious word of action to joy or to rejoice in our Heavenly Father who provides us with countless blessings. We can choose to delight ourselves in God’s…
