In the early morning, before the city fully awakens there is blessed quietness. The sun has yet to rise and only the birds are celebrating that a new day has begun. It’s a perfect time to sit and meditate about God’s goodness. God is good and God is great. The gift of mercies is renewed with a new day. I can begin again with a refreshed mind and spirit. So many things happened yesterday and the days before but with first light I gain new perspective, new direction and new courage to forge ahead. I can take this quiet time of gratitude and praise into the rest of my day. I can carry this peace through the hustle and bustle that will come in later hours. I can maintain my joy and seek to spread it to others remembering the blessing of first light.
