Together

11 10 2016

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

Things are working together for my good. What happened yesterday, what is happening today and what will happen tomorrow is working together to bless my life. Along my journey, I experience things that bring both joy and pain. Some things have clear meaning. Others are shrouded in mystery. But God knows all. God’s love and mercy surround my life and my circumstance. Grace transforms the happenings of my life not to cause harm but to bring goodness and purpose. I am trusting and so thankful that things are working together for my good.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Unfailing

7 10 2016

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6

God is unfailing. God’s love and mercy surround my life. I am grateful. Even when I don’t understand God’s love nurtures and keeps me. Even when I fail, I am not turned away. God is always as close as a prayer; always listening, always ready to forgive, to deliver and to set free.  This consistent source of grace and love empowers my life. God is unfailing and I am eternally thankful.

Thankful

6 10 2016

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

I Thessalonians 5:18

I am thankful for this day. It is a blessing that my journey has brought me to this time and place. Today and each day is an opportunity to reflect on God’s faithfulness. I can consider the grace and the mercy that has filled each step on my path. Love and peace are gifts from above that give me strength along the way. The Holy Spirit provides leading and instruction that keeps me moving forward. I have so much to be thankful for. My heart is full of thanksgiving as I journey on.

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Encouraged Heart

5 10 2016

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knDSC00178owledge. Colossians 2:2 – 3

We want to live our lives with an encouraged heart. The challenges of daily living can chip away at our optimism and faith. Each day we should seek to replenish our faith and outlook by reflecting on the goodness of God. If we take a few moments each morning to reflect on God’s faithfulness, it is a powerful reminder that we are never alone in our struggle. God has been unfailing in Love and for meeting every need. We can give thanks for what God has done and look forward to God’s continued goodness in the day to come with an encouraged heart.

Fourth Quarter

4 10 2016

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:14 NLT

We’ve entered the last quarter of the year. It’s a good time to review the “to do” list. I started this year with optimism and anticipation about goals, strategies and next steps. I am so thankful to God for my journey over the last several months. I am entering the home stretch of this year with more strength and first-hand knowledge that God is able. I have a deep knowing that God orders my steps and His leading keeps me in good stead.   The list still has unchecked items, so I am thankful for next few months. It’s time to focus and buckle down on what’s left of what God is calling me to do. It’s time to finish this year strong.

Stand Strong

i-corinthians-16_13

When the Lord empowers my stance, I can stand strong.

When God’s Word is my foundation, I am like rock that can not be moved.

When the Holy Spirit guides me, I am taking purposeful steps forward.

Tuned In

15 09 2016

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.  Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.   All day long I put my hope in you.        Psalm 25:4-5

I want to be tuned in to what God is saying. I want to hear clearly what is being spoken to me, to my heart and my mind. My ear is to the ground and in the air, listening for what is to come. It may not be a burning bush moment, but I believe God is speaking. The messages are pulling on my heart, challenging my mind, and pushing me out of my comfort zone. At moments when it is hard, I want to recoil and question who is really speaking but then I realize I am not alone. If I move forward in God’s leading, God is with me. God is empowering my steps with courage, guiding my words, and moving me into my purpose.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

Guide My Heart

14 09 2016

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

I want my heart and motives to be in the right place at all times. The Holy Spirit provides direction about moving away from emotions that are not empowered by God. I am thankful for this leading. It keeps me in good stead in making wise decisions and not falling prey to anger, resentment and other dark emotions. I want a clean heart. I want to be moving directly toward my purpose each day. I want to avoid meandering in distraction and other obstacles that keep me from my moving forward.

Today, I ask the Lord to guide my heart, as I move forward in purpose.
