Good Guidance

1 12 2016

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.

His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise

Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing.

Then the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:6-9

I am praying today for the Creator to empower my journey. God’s leading will help me to see the next steps and give me clear direction on how to move forward. I’m taking a leap of faith. All my experiences till now prepare me for what is ahead. I can move forward in confidence. I can trust that I am not alone and that I am walking in purpose. My heart is full of gratitude for what’s next. The Creator is empowering my journey and I am thankful.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLV

We thank God for renewed mind and spirit today. Jesus can bring a fresh wind in our hearts and minds that give us a renewed sense of purpose and the energy to move in His direction. It comes with a refreshed mind and eyes that can see with a grateful heart of His goodness, His grace and His mercy. We are so thankful that God is our Heavenly Father that can turn our difficult situations into opportunities to grow and to expand and to become the individuals that He is calling us to be. We may be going through a situation that seems long and arduous but there is an end that will come. The hurt will soften and heal, the answer will become clear and God will provide the grace and mercy for you to be able to move forward. We thank God for being the source of renewal and revival in our lives.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 NLV

Counting Blessings

23 11 2016

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, Psalm 103:1-2 ESV

We have so much to be thankful for. Counting our blessings is one way to be mindful of God’s goodness to each of us. God’s grace, God’s unmerited favor and love encircle our lives that result in so many blessings. The powerful lens of gratitude is an opportunity to look at our situations with a new revelation on a daily basis. God is great and continues to make a way for us even in the darkest hour and most difficult situations. I remember during testimony service, the Saints would share their thanks for portions of health, life and strength, for having a mind to serve God and the gift of salvation and being filled with the Holy Ghost. The recitation was often repetitive but reflecting on it now, I realize its importance. We can thank God for blessings each day. It is impossible to enumerate them all but taking the time each day to reflect on God’s goodness and giving the Lord praise strengthens our journey. Creating a gratitude journal is a wonderful way of capturing the Lord’s blessings. Writing daily at least three things that you are thankful for establishes a pattern of reflection and our response of gratitude to God’s goodness. God is good. God is worthy. And we are thankful. We bless God’s Holy Name.

This is the day

22 11 2016

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalms 118:24

My heart is full of gratitude for this day.  Today is designed and made by God, so I can approach it with anticipation and hope.  My Heavenly Father loves me and has created another 24 hours of opportunities to experience His love for me.  Grace and mercy surround my journey and I am thankful.   The Holy Spirit provides guidance and strength to make good decisions about every aspect of my life.  I will listen for His direction with an open heart and mind.  I am yielded to the Lord’s higher ground for my steps and thinking.  He is leading me toward my purpose and I am thankful.

This is the day the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be happy today! Psalms 118:24 ESV

One Day at a Time

18 11 2016

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

I need to take things one day at a time. My focus should be on today and not worry about what may be way down the road and not in my control. God created this day, this time and place. I can have confidence of the love, grace and peace that will surround me today. I am nurturing my faith and trusting my Creator to be with me. Challenges will come but I am not alone. Opportunities will come to share my love with others, I will respond with an open heart. This is the day that God created. I can approach it with thanksgiving, love and anticipation of everything that it will bring.

Stay Encouraged

17 11 2016

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 ESV

Keeping my heart encouraged is a posture of faith. It is a point of looking forward with my full trust in the Lord.  The scenery around my current situation may look difficult with challenges on multiple fronts but I am not standing here alone.  The Lord, my Savior, is forever with me.  He provides a fortress of refuge around me and I am not alone.  I know the Lord is faithful to guide my steps when I listen for His leading.  I know that He is working the details of my life together for my good.  So my trust is in Him.  A deep knowing of His love for me and His desire for me to experience His goodness keeps my heart encouraged.  My trust is in the Lord.  I am encouraged.

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8 ESV
