I am With You

29 06 2012

But now the LORD says: Be strong, Zerubbabel. Be strong, Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people still left in the land. And now get to work, for I am with you, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid.  Haggai 2:4-5

We are so thankful for a Faithful Father who is always with us. We may wonder how we are going to make it through with the work He has assigned to our hands. We may not know how we will have the strength to continue when times are tough. Our passage today is reminder of God’s promises to us through the Prophet Haggai. He encourages God’s servants to be strong and to get to work. God is with us. Although our instincts may be to become weary and fearful but our God is a great and He is with us every step of the way.

But now don’t be discouraged, any of you. Do the work, for I am with you  when you came out of Egypt, I promised that I would always be with you. I am still with you, so do not be afraid.  Haggai 2:4-5

Show Yourself Strong

28 06 2012

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. 2 Chronicles 16:9 a

We serve a mighty God who loves us.  His power and mercy is evident in the grace that is bestowed on us each day.  As we approach our walk with Him, we may wonder how He is moving on our behalf.  We may not see how the individual events in our lives work together but our Heavenly Father has the master plan.  This is the same God that spoke the world into existence. What power, what might and how gracious that God brought each of us into this world for this time and this place.  I am thankful to God for the countless blessings that allow my today and tomorrows.  I am thankful that God has already worked things out on our behalf and that we can honor our Father with our love and our service.  He is showing Himself strong each day.

Be Encouraged

9 05 2012

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:4 – 6

It can be easy to be consumed by the issues of the day. Each day has its own joy and challenges. We can approach blessed day with confidence and peace of God’s promises that:

He will provide direction;

  • He would guide our footsteps;

His Holy Spirit can give us the right words to say;

He will meet our needs as we put Him first;

He can provide protection in the midst of the storm.

A brighter day starts with rising of the sun and the Son of God, Jesus Christ in our lives.

Bless Him with My Life

19 01 2012

Christian brothers, I ask you from my heart to give your bodies to God because of His loving-kindness to us. Let your bodies be a living and holy gift given to God. He is pleased with this kind of gift. This is the true worship that you should give Him.  Romans 12:1 NLV

I am so thankful that I know Jesus Christ. He has provided so much joy, peace and tangible love for my life. Before accepting Him as my personal Savior, my life was incomplete. My walk with the Lord has created much fulfillment in my life and I am thankful. This passage in Romans encourages us to present our lives as a living sacrifice for the Lord. We can truly worship God by living a life that follows His word, His Holy Spirit and His leading for us. We can bless Him with our lives and our living.

The Message bible offers another translation of this scripture that encourages us to take our “everyday, ordinary” life and present it to God. Sometimes we resist presenting our whole lives and close the door on the compartments of our lives that may need work. But our God can take our ordinary lives and transform it into full beauty, once we put our trust in Him.

  • So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life-and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.  Romans 12:1-2  (Message)

The Promise is Near

5 12 2011

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.  Hebrews 10:36-36

We have entered another December, the last month of another year. It will be a blessing to see a new year. For some of us this year may have had its challenges on several fronts. Still others may have needs that we have prayed about and prayed again, again in anticipation that God will hear our prayer and change our situation. We can be assured that as His children that our Father has heard our prayer and knows all about it. We can also be assured that He is working all things together for our good. While we wait, our passage today reminds us to continue to trust the Lord and to show patient endurance. We should continue to do His will and not something that we have determined from our often flawed thinking. Then we will receive all that He has promised. Even as another year, comes to a close continue to trust the Lord and do His will – the promise is near.

With Us Always

1 12 2011

“Teach them to do all the things I have told you. And I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”  Matthew 28:20

We are never alone. Despite the pervasive loneliness in our society today, as believers we can be assured that God is with us each day. Even though sometimes we may not be able to feel His presence, He is always there. As we are seeking to do His will, follow His word and to meet the challenges of the day, our Heavenly Father is with us. Even when we make mistakes and need His forgiveness, when we turn our hearts and prayers to Him in repentance, He is faithful to forgive us. What a priceless blessing that nothing can separate us from His love. No matter what we are facing God promises to be with us always.

Great Expectations

31 08 2011

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.  Hebrews 11:6 NLT

We woke up this morning with another day stretched out ahead of us.  As a child of God, I am in great anticipation of the day and the blessings that it will bring. I expect that God will keep every promise to His children. He will provide for every need. He will be with me always. He will provide peace for my mind. He will continue to guide my steps. He will provide protection. He provides deliverance and healing.  And He even knows the desire of my heart.

Just imagine if we approached each day with a sense of great expectation of what God will do. How He is working things out on our behalf. How he will provide wisdom and direction through His Holy Spirit.  It gives us a new perspective on what the day will bring. This day is filled with promise and blessing and I am thankful.

Jesus Prayed for Us

22 08 2011

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32

I love to think about the fact that Jesus prays for us. He has talked to His father on our behalf. Even though the enemy may have plans to destroy us. Jesus has prayed that our faith will not fail. What a source of encouragement that He has prayed for the success of our strength, our endurance and our faith.
