“But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22 – 23 (Amplified Bible)
The Holy Spirit is such a precious gift in our lives, providing love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. In this passage, the fruit of the Holy Spirit is described as “the work which His presence within accomplishes”. I am still a work in progress but I am so thankful for “God’s Presence within” that I am not where I used to be. No matter where we find ourselves on the spectrum of these individual traits, the Holy Spirit is there to help us. We may need to demonstrate more love, patience, kindness, humility or more self-control. I am praying for more of each of these blessings to be evident in every aspect of my life. I believe if we need more fruit, as we follow His leading, the Holy Spirit is faithful to answer our prayer.
