A Strong Tower

Barcelona 2013 032The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

I am so thankful that we serve a living God that is available to us to provide refuge and protection. The world we live in today seemingly has so many pitfalls and dangers that seek to destroy our lives – our families, our marriages, our hope and our peace. But when we turn to the Lord, He provides refuge. We can go to Him in prayer, meditate on His word and lift our voices in praise and find ourselves enveloped in His presence. In this place of protection, we can experience peace, renewed spirit and strength and receive direction for the next step. Whatever we are facing, we can turn to our Heavenly Father – The Name of the Lord is a Strong Tower.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Psalm 46:1-3

Strength

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.  Isaiah 40:31

The Lord provides strength. 

He renews my spirit. 

He provides peace for my soul. 

I can keep pressing with an encouraged heart. 

He is my Savior. 

He is my Provider and Healer. 

In Him, I can put my trust. 

As I move through today, He is empowering my journey and I am thankful. 

 

God’s name is a place of protection—good people can run there and be safe.  Proverbs 18:10

I will trust

Arizona Hills by Lori 2012Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7

 I will trust in the name of the Lord.  God is our strong tower, our refuge and our source of strength.  Even as the landscape may shift beneath our feet, we can stand firm in faith on the name of the Lord.  Our trust is in the Lord, who loves us and provides peace even in the midst of the storm.  He is our present help and a bulwark never failing.  Our trust is in Him, Jesus our Savior.
