Thankful for His Love

10 03 2016

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;  Ephesians 5:20

We can be thankful for each new day. With the rising of the sun, we experience God’s grace and mercy that is stretched out from our past and into our future.  That fact alone fills my heart with gratitude.  Nothing I have done or could ever do would merit such blessing for my life.  It is evidence of the Lord’s unconditional love for me.  This love is for everyone who will open their hearts to Him and receive His love as their own.  Jesus loves us.  He gave His life for us and we can be thankful for this blessing.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

A Gift for Jesus

Gifts are a central theme for Christmas. Many focus on what to give family and friends.  As we celebrate the birthday of our Savior, maybe it is appropriate to think about what to give Him.  Our gifts will have to be something from our heart and soul.  Will it be more of my time and attention?  Will I give my commitment to walk more closely with Him?  I could give Him more compassion and forgiveness for His children here and around the world.  Maybe I will give Him my words and speak only words of faith and love.  It may be that I will give Him more of my time reading and meditating on His Word.  It is something to contemplate….  What to give the Savior?

Whatever it is.. I will need to wrap it in my praise and my worship. His gift to me makes my life possible.  His gift to me blesses me beyond measure and I am so thankful.

Everyday Easter

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.  John 3:16-18 MSG

During this season, we recognize the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for our sins.   It is a time to reflect on His suffering and death at Calvary for you and for me.   God’s love for us is so vast and so complete that He gave His Son Jesus to the world.  The Son of God came that we might have salvation and that we would see an exemplary Holy life in flesh and blood.   We thank God for this season of celebration and recognition of His life, His death and His resurrection.  It is a season that we can extend throughout the year.  We can celebrate Easter every day.  We can honor His sacrifice by accepting Him into our hearts, confessing that He is our risen Savior.  We are so thankful for the gift of salvation and the opportunity to live in relationship with Him, doing our best to honor His example every day.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 NLT

Believe Jesus

We can put our full Faith in God.  He is the creator of the Universe and took the time to create each one of us.  Our existence is a testimony of His ability to create complex organisms and systems that result in our bodies.  His gift of His Son Jesus Christ is the ultimate gift of love to the World.   Our lives and our living are our testimony of our response to God.  Do we recognize Him as God?  Do we accept His Word that His Son Jesus Christ is our Savior?  Do we accept and believe Jesus in our hearts today?  These are important questions for establishing, building and living in faith.  We may believe in Jesus but we are called to believe in Him, trust in Him and believe who He says He is.  We are called to believe in His Word.  We are compelled to do His will each day.  Our belief, trust and faith in Jesus Christ can be demonstrated by our words and actions every day.  We can put our full faith in Jesus Christ and accept Him in our hearts and living today.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

Unconditional

Tree of life

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

God loves us now. He will love us today and that love extends into eternity. His love never changes. It is not conditional on what we say or do. It doesn’t matter where you were born, what you did yesterday or where you stand today. God loves you. He loves you today and seeks to be in relationship with you through His Son Jesus Christ. We are in a world, where unconditional love is scarce. Love, commitment and devotion often depend on something else. The emotional love we share with one another depends on how we are feeling, how you are acting, what I did yesterday or some other factor that may ebb and flow with time. I am thankful that God’s love is unconditional. We can experience His eternal love today and always. An open heart to Him is a first step for each of us. Accepting the gift of salvation is available to us now when we let the Lord into our hearts and into our lives and our living. His love, and His mercy brings healing and deliverance to our whole lives. It transforms our soul and giving us new life. The gift of the Holy Spirit permeates our living nurturing, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. In relationship with Him, the journey into a blessed life becomes clear. His love is unconditional and is available to each of us today. Let us open our hearts to Him and the powerful love that He has to offer.

Dear Heavenly Father –
We thank you for this day and the gift of your love. I realize that I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins. I open my heart to you and accept your Son Jesus Christ as my Savior. I thank you God for the gift of your love and this new opportunity to walk with you and to follow your Holy Spirit. In your Son Jesus’s name, I pray.
Amen

Please know we are praying for you. If desired, please send a prayer request in reply to this email.

Choosing Jesus

21 11 2013

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

We make decisions each day. From the time we open our eyes, we make choices about how we live our lives. Accepting Jesus into our hearts and into our lives is the most important decision we can make. We are created as creatures of choice. We get to decide to accept His gift of salvation. We get the opportunity to turn from our former ways. We get to choose a new life and a new journey with Him. It is up to us. It may be a new choice or it may be a choice that you made long ago. But we are reminded today that Jesus loves us and that He gave His life for our sins. He loves you and He loves me. He came that we may have life and life more abundantly. We can accept His gift of salvation and the gift of His Holy Spirit. So if this is a new choice, you are welcome to the family of God. If this is renewed choice, we thank God for a renewed commitment to Him and a deeper desire to walk closer with Him. Walking with Jesus, we want to make consistent choices that reflect our faith, love and respect for our Heavenly Father and His Word. We want to walk in integrity, love and meekness that quickly identify us as a child of the King. We want to choose Jesus and His ways each day.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  John 10:10

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
In your name,
amen.
